Freedom Place Establishes Foundation with $150 Million Initial Goal
$1 billion real estate project aims to donate 100% of profits to fight human trafficking
The Freedom Place World-Class Office project has established its Freedom Place Foundation Fund with the National Christian Foundation (NCF) with an initial target to generate $150 million of profit to fight global human trafficking.
The NCF was recently ranked in the top 10 largest nonprofits in the US, and serves donors to give more tax-efficiently to support their favorite charitable causes, mobilizing billions of dollars for nonprofit ministries around the corner, and around the world.
Freedom Place is the first of its kind world-class office building where the developer aims to donate 100% of the profits to fight human trafficking. The project aims to raise $150 million in profits in Phase 1.
Human trafficking is a global problem affecting 40 million "modern slaves" trapped in the sex industry and other oppressive businesses. Current global donations total around $350 million, so Freedom Place aims to make a significant impact on that figure.
Freedom Place Founder and CEO Ben Briggs noted, "I’m so thankful and honored to announce the start of the Freedom Place Foundation Fund in collaboration with the National Christian Foundation’s powerful and streamlined platform. Their pioneering work in recent decades enables generosity and mobilizes billions of dollars for massively impactful causes at home and abroad."
The Freedom Place World-Class Office project earlier this month announced its nationwide search for a “President and Chief Resource Officer” in collaboration with Halftime Talent Solutions. Halftime Talent is affiliated with the Halftime Institute, founded following the success of Bob Buford's book Halftime, in which he coaches industry executives at the pinnacle of their careers who are looking for more meaningful ways to use their time and talents in the second half of their life. The Halftime Institute teaches, coaches and connects marketplace leaders to help them discover and engage in their workplaces. In the process, a “Halftimer” learns to surrender to his or her own calling, to live out deep faith in God, to multiply their impact in truly important issues, and to experience lasting joy in community. The key position Freedom Place is seeking to fill is that of "President and Chief Resource Officer". The successful candidate will have 20 or 30 years of experience in real estate and office development. He or she will oversee the Freedom Place team of staff to handle architectural firm interface, design, permitting, underwriting, construction, and more.
Millions are trapped today in modern slavery and more are being trafficked each year. Let's use our freedom to bring that same freedom to today's modern slaves.
