Freedom Place 2019 Update & Downtown Prayer Luncheon

August 6, 2019 – Representatives from real estate, banking, investment, human trafficking, legal, and nonprofit sectors joined in Downtown Dallas on Tuesday to hear the latest updates on the Freedom Place project and pray over potential sites and future plans.

The $1 billion office development aims to generate significant finding to fight human trafficking while building awareness of the plight of modern slavery, both in the US and worldwide.

Founder & CEO Ben Briggs updated the audience on progress, including establishment of the charity foundation, team formation, discussions with major sites, the search for an anchor tenant, strategic considerations, and more. The diverse group gave suggestions and recommendations before joining in prayer for the cause.

The meeting was graciously hosted atop the Bank of America Plaza with fantastic views of major construction sites in Downtown Dallas. While the first construction site for a Freedom Place tower doesn’t necessarily have to be in Dallas, the development team is already engaged with many partners in that market, so Dallas is a logical location for the building.

Briggs shared his inspiration for the project, including hard data about how we are losing the battle against this $150 billion industry, to sad stories like the child cybersex trafficking neighborhoods he recently visited in Philippines’s slums.

The meeting was full of hope and encouragement as the team presses forward to next steps.
